Debora Cavero Moreno

I moved to New York in 2025 after completing my PhD at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain), where I focused my research on hereditary cancer and DNA damage repair pathways. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at Columbia University’s HICCC, working on head and neck and esophageal squamous cell carcinomas through patient-derived organoid models.

Outside of the lab, I love organizing weekend road trips and travel getaways with friends, as well as exploring New York City's food and cultural scene!

As an international postdoc moving to New York, building a strong community has been an essential part of my journey, and I look forward to contributing to and connecting with this amazing scientific and social network.
