Mindfulness and meditation workshop session in maintaining wellness with Dr. Michael Sheridan
Overview of Workshop
CUPS is pleased to announce that we will be offering a one-hour seminar on Wednesday, June 9th, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on the “Role of Mindfulness and Meditation in Maintaining Wellness” presented by Dr. Michael Sheridan, Special Advisor on Diversity and Wellness Programs, Office of Intramural Training & Education, National Institutes of Health. The workshop will provide information on holistic health, mindfulness, and approaches to meditation, including an opportunity to participate in two brief mindfulness and meditation exercises.
Dr. Michael Sheridan is currently Special Advisor on Diversity and Wellness Programs with the Office of Training & Education, at the National Institutes of Health, where she developed meditation groups and other wellness offerings for NIH Trainees and Fellows over the past 7 years. Prior to coming to the NIH, Dr. Sheridan was a social work educator for 28 years, during which she incorporated mindfulness and centering exercises into her undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral classes. She has had a personal meditation practice for over 30 years and is trained as a Level II Practitioner of Integrative Restoration Yoga Nidra.
