Your response to failure and difficult lab culture affects your career and personal life. Dr. Anna Womack is here to give us advice! :)

About this Event

There are many thoughts that postdocs may experience during their time as trainees:

  • “I’ve failed”
  • “How do I know which is the right career path for me?”
  • “I’m too overwhelmed. I can’t do this anymore.”

These types of thoughts and associated mindsets can directly impact how you feel and the actions you decide to take.

This session with Dr. Anna Womack, OPA’s Wellness Director, will review common mindsets that postdocs report experiencing in response to:

  • failed experiments
  • difficult lab culture
  • career planning
  • and more!

Drawing on her background as a licensed psychologist and experience at the Office for Postdoctoral Affairs, Dr. Womack examine how these mindsets can impact us. She will discuss recommendations for adjusting these mindsets to help you be more effective in your career and personal life.
