Research and Professional Development OLD
The Research and Professional Development (R&PD) Subcommittee of CUPS organizes professional and career development events, scientific talks and workshops, aiming to broaden career development for Columbia Postdocs. In the past year (2016-2017) they have successfully organized a Chalk Talk Workshop, a Precision Medicine Panel, a Science Communication Workshop, a Scientific Reproducibility Discussion and an Immigration Info Session. A Postdoctoral Seminar Series, a Scientific Divulgation Talk about Neuroscience, a Research-Clinical Seminar Series, an Advanced Science Communication Workshop and a Faculty Job Search Workshop are planned for the coming year (more details and links below).
The committee sits on a monthly basis and is recruiting new members! By joining this subcommittee you will develop your organizational and communication skills in setting up events and coordinating them with other organizations, and you will learn budgeting too! Our main goal is being creative and active in supporting the postdoctoral community.
